The Homegrown Classic, formerly Ring of Fire, is an annual high school All-Star game. The event always features some of the best players in the state and will do so again this year. The event will be held on June 5th at Cornerstone University. The events and the game are set to start at 6PM and there will be a $10 fee to get in.
We're going to take a look at the rosters and a sneak peak at each player. Then we'll give you a prediction of the Homegrown Classic.
#1 Selena Titus
Titus is a high IQ lead guard that hit teammates in scoring position with a clean pass.
#2 Grace Richardson
The Grandville wing will be a dangerous shooter that can heat up off the catch.
#3 Anna Ignatoski
The last time we saw Ignatoski, she was scorching the nets at the Breslin Center.
#4 Avery Wilson
The guard can play at any pace which could be key in an all-star game.
#5 Lily Nitz
The wing can be a game changer with her jumper over the top of the defense.
#10 Kamryn Boonstra
The South Christian forward will bring versatility and a well rounded game.
#12 Kamrin Ward
Ward will bring a high speed and athletic attacking style to the team.
#13 Melanin Holman
Holman will be playing on her future homecourt and will always be a threat to push the ball in the open floor.
#14 Makara Obande
Obande is an elite ball handler and playmaker that can play at a fast pace.
#24 Mirra Fenlon
Fenlon and her height and ball skills will be a very tough matchup.
#1 Shamari Hamilton
Hamilton can distribute like a PG, but also get buckets from multiple levels.
#2 Anna Wypych
Wypych was a national recruiting target and a premier player in Michigan.
#3 Hannah Gillette
Gillette is a terrific passer and very efficient shooter.
#4 Lauren Meerman
Meerman is a high IQ guard that can make plays with her jumper and off the bounce.
#5 Grace McKinney
McKinney could be the best defensive player in the game.
#10 Semaj Robertson
Robertson is a playmaking guard that can defend the length of the floor.
#13 Vivian Idziak
Idziak will grab boards, that's a given. She has a nose for the ball off the rim and rebounds high.
#14 Jaslynn Ward
Ward will get downhill with the ball and play physical basketball.
#33 Harmony Laker
The Wayland star will be a tough cover on the wing.
Team Taylor
I think the length and tough matchup players on Team Taylor top the playmakers of Team McCully.
