Fast Film Breakdown

As a scout and coach, I LOVE film! We're going to take a few film clips from X and do a fast film breakdown regarding some of the positive things that we see.

Evelyn Hoener (2029, G, Detroit Country Day)

Right off the bat we see her fire a jumper over the top of a closeout from beyond the arc. It repeats itself through the film as well. This makes is obvious that Hoener is shot ready on the catch and that she can focus throughout the shot. I liked seeing a willingness to hit 2 feet and kick to a shooter with no hesitation. Hoener also shows the willingness to swing the ball to a teammate for a good look.

Bella Swisshelm (2029, G/F, West Clermont)

Let's start with her work off the high post....I absolutely love it. She catches elbow and uses a lightning quick drop step to get to bucket and score. Later in the film clip, Swisshelm catches free throw line and uses a spin move to her right to lose her defender and score. She shows deep range on her jumper and also the ability to use power under the rim and finish through a defender.

Arisara McDonald (2026, F, Rochester)

McDonald looks really strong with the ball. She seems to really like going right to left, even utilizing a strong and fast right to left crossover that led to a layup. Speaking of layups, I really like her ability to scoop and score. McDonald gets it up protected, off the glass and in the bucket in a hurry. McDonald shows some nice court vision as well, hitting a cutter with a bounce pass that was right on target and on time.

Myrese Vieau (2028, G, Michigan Center)

Vieau has handles to say the least. She starts out by rocking her defender, getting her leaning and then attacking and finishing right. She does it again with a pretty crossover that led to a lane and a righty finish. Vieau shows the ability to shoot off the catch and the ability to pull up off the bounce and hit from mid range. She's also able to finish in the lane off 1 and 2 feet.
