Kamp's Korner is taking today to look at some freshman to watch this coming high school season and beyond. These are all players that we feel have high upside and may even be influential as freshman this season. We're going to give you a few free looks here and there will be even more freshman to watch at kampskorner.substack.com!
Kenzie Cooper (G, Sparta)
Cooper is a name to know as she enters high school. She has the look of a true point guard. Cooper is an efficient ball handler that gets the ball across half court and gets it to it's spots. She's an unselfish floor leader that can initiate the offense and is willing and able to make the right pass with the ball.
Reese Grounds (F, Tecumseh)
Tecumseh is welcoming in a very talented player in Reese Grounds. She's a multi sport athlete and you can see it in her basketball game. Grounds has good feet and ease of movement, especially for a freshman forward. Her feet and movement allow her to fill a wing in transition and be a factor in the open floor. And if you saw her this summer, you know that she stays active on the glass and is a 2 way player.
Gabbi Sabaugh (G/F, Fraser)
Sabaugh is a talented player that has a bright future in the game of basketball. She has good positional strength that helps her keep defenders at bay and drive through a busy lane through contact. Sabaugh has a very effective spin move that she can take either way and get a bucket off of. She's also very confident and effective when finding space, catching a kick out pass, and shooting a 3 off the catch.
